Supplier Quality Engineer

Job Purpose: Supplier Quality Engineer with responsibility tomeasure and improve part quality. Thisshould be done through managing the corrective action process, supplierimprovement activity and, as required, containment actions. The scope is for all part quality issuesregardless of the origin, new product or end customer. Relies on experience and judgment to plan andaccomplish goals.
Responsibilities:
Performsupplier on-site audits to check capability, processes, control plan, etc.
Perform newsupplier PPAP and early stage control activities
Identify highrisk and critical-to-quality suppliers; establish quality improvementactivities
Compilesupplier failure data from incoming inspection, in-process, customer and fieldreturns to maintain supplier quality performance trends and periodic reports;track parts and corrective action
Manage suppliercorrective action ( issue CAR, evaluate responses, manage cycle time)
Validateincoming inspection and control plans; support incoming inspection whentechnical or priority issues arise
Manage MaterialReview Board (MRB); evaluate and disposition non-conforming material
Education:
Required:
Bachelor Degree or equivalent combination of education and years ofrelevant experience

Excellent self-management and project management skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Advanced level expertise in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access and Project)
Strong analytical, innovative problem-solving, time management and planning skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Highly motivated and technically competent
Utilization of root cause analysis problem solving methodology
Ability to negotiate, prioritize and multitask
Willingness to travel (domestic and international) to support other DENSO Group companies, customers and suppliers
Preferred:
BS in engineering
Experience with New Product Introduction and ProductDevelopment Cycle
Knowledge of Customer or Supplier Process ChangeControl systems (e.g., PPAP)
Strong working knowledge of Quality Tools related toroot cause analysis 8-D's, Five Why's or equivalent
Ability to read schematics and communicate with designengineers
Familiar with ISO 9000, 14001 and TS16949 standards
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles
Six Sigma certified Green or Black Belt
Type of Equipment / Software Knowledge:
Ability to program CMM equipment
Ability to perform failure analysis on components(i.e. curve tracer, cross sectioning, chemical decapsulation, etc.)
